This family owned and operated winery, nestled in the hills at Smith Mountain Lake, offers visitors a quiet country setting and the chance to get away from it all. Bring a lunch, sip some wine, slow down and enjoy a day at our farm. Offering winery & vineyard tours, complimentary wine tastings and a scenic picnic area Thursday through Monday, 11 AM to 5 PM, mid-March through mid-December. Tuesdays & Wednesdays by appointment. Closed Thanksgiving Day.

Bedford County’s first winery and Virginia’s first fruit winery is nestled at the foot of the Peaks of Otter where we, the Johnson family, continue the farming tradition that our ancestors began here in the 1700’s. We are open year round and make 25 varieties of wine, primarily from the fruits that we grow. During the season, you may sample fruits, from which the wines are made, as well as jams, jellies, and butters. Our facilities and farm are always welcoming to guests and families and we are available to host special events such as weddings and parties. Call for details, events and hours.
