Nov 6 - 13th annual Apple Valley 5k Cross Country Race - 10:00am - This 3.1 mile race is for runners and walkers of all ages. Awards will be given in eight age categories and to the top overall man and woman. Awards crafted by Emerson Creek Pottery. Proceeds benefit Bedford Hospice. Registration is $15.00 until Oct. 22 and $20.00 afterward and on race day. Nov 27 - Smith Mountain Lake State Park hosts 12th Annual Flotilla for Toys - 7:00pm to 9:00pm - Enjoy the best spot on the lake to view the elaborately decorated boats as they cruise by the Beach Pavilion. Bundle up and join us as we roast marshmallows, create unique crafts and enjoy holiday treats. Stop by our craft table to make an ornament for Lake Christian Ministries to distribute within the community.
