- Mar 16 - Harlem Ambassadors - 7:00pm - Offering a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball, featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks, and hilarious comedy routines, the Harlem Ambassadors are talented male and female basketball players that are drug-free, college-educated, and positive in appearance. They are committed to giving their audience quality family entertainment and serving as excellent role models for young people with their program’s themes to stay in school and stay drug free. The Harlem Ambassadors will play against a team of local leaders and hometown heroes. We have named our team the “Bedford Hot Shots.” Tickets will be $6.00 in advance (while supplies last), $8.00 at the door. For this event, the Ambassadors have partnered with our local GFWC Bedford Woman’s Club. Proceeds will be donated to provide a trained service dog to a deaf or disabled serviceman or woman through the national program, Canines for Combat Veterans. Mar 21 - Inspired by Africa - Nancy Strachan and Pastor Deo Gashagaza will speak on their Rwandan ministries to launch a series of events entitled "Inspired by Africa". An art exhibit by that name will be featured in our expanded gallery space.The prize winning movie, "As We Forgive" will be shown. The event is free and open to the public. The gallery will be open beginning at 2:00 PM and the program begins at 3:00 PM - Bower Center for the Arts at 305 North Bridge Street, Bedford - 540-586-4235
