From the Big Apple to the Big Easy, the Crescent offers convenient daily trips between New York City and New Orleans. Choose a wide, comfortable Reserved Coach seat, or make reservations for Sleeper Service accommodations on our comfortable Viewliner trains. Enjoy a hot dinner in the Dining Car, and mingle with your fellow travelers in the Lounge Car.

Northeast Regional

Boston - Providence / Springfield - Hartford - New York - Washington, DC - Richmond - Lynchburg / Newport News - Virginia Beach

The Northeast Regional offers convenient and affordable downtown-to-downtown service up and down the Northeast Corridor, with multiple departures daily. Amtrak now offers daily roundtrip service to Lynchburg, VA, as well as hourly morning service from Richmond, VA. These two new services will make it easy to travel from central Virginia to anywhere in the Northeast Corridor. The expanded Richmond, VA service begins on December 15, 2009. Northeast Regional trains have been redesigned to make your onboard experience the best ever. You'll find comfortable seating with electrical outlets for your laptop computer and extra storage space for your luggage. Cafe Cars offer appetizing sandwiches, snacks and beverages. In Business class, you'll enjoy a complimentary beverage in the Cafe Car, and have access to conference tables and phones. For budget-minded travelers, Coach class service is also available. On Northeast Regional trains, you can relax in our popular Quiet Car, where cell phones are silent and conversation is kept to a minimum.

Amtrak Shuttle Trains provide additional service between New Haven, CT and Springfield, MA.

  • May 25 - Annual Louisiana Crawfish Boil - 5:00pm - Mark your calendar for Wharton Memorial’s Fifth Annual Crawfish Boil generously sponsored on by Dr. John Bower and Edna Curry. Join us for live Zydeco music and the party of the year in Bedford! Just as last year the band, Zydeco Crazy, not only gives us great sound, but instructs in Cajun dancing as well. Once again we will have tons of crawfish to be steamed, mounds of mouthwatering gumbo, delicious red beans and rice and my "all-time favorite" -- crawfish etouffee for our delight. Beer and wine can be purchased as well as sodas and water.   • May 27 - Remembering Their Sacrifice - 11:00am - The Memorial commemorates Memorial Day with a special ceremony to officially recognize the men and women who have sacrificed for our freedoms. A number of plaques will be dedicated to commemorate various elements of D-Day. The program begins at 11am. Admission is free until noon.   • Jun 6 - 69th Anniversary of D-Day - 11:00am - Spend the 69th anniversary of D-Day at the National D-Day Memorial where valor, fidelity, and sacrifice are honored throughout the year. Pay tribute to those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in Normandy 69 years ago and honor those veterans who lived to fight another day. There will be a ceremony at the National D-Day Memorial including special music and speakers. Tours will be provided throughout the day.
